What to contact Spotloan about

Customer service can help with most account issues. Common reasons to reach out include:

  • Changing a payment date or amount when your paycheck schedule shifts or money is tight.
  • Paying off early to cut interest. Spotloan has no prepayment penalty.
  • Updating bank, email, phone or mailing details.
  • Questions about your loan agreement, balance or how interest is calculated.
  • Trouble signing in or a locked account.
  • Disputing a charge or a payment you don't recognize.
  • Hardship. If you can't pay, calling early gives you the most options. Our guide to missed Spotloan payments includes a simple call script.
  • Suspected identity theft or fraud, such as a loan you didn't apply for.

Questions about whether you'd qualify are usually answered by Spotloan's published requirements. See our Spotloan requirements checklist before calling.

The 2-business-day rule

This is the single most important thing to know about contacting Spotloan. Spotloan asks borrowers to contact it at least 2 business days before a due date to change a payment schedule or amount. Changes to payoffs also need 2 business days.

Why it matters: if you call the day before a payment, the scheduled ACH debit may already be in process. That can lead to an overdraft at your bank if the money isn't there.

A few practical examples, assuming no holidays:

  • Payment due Friday → contact Spotloan by Wednesday.
  • Payment due Monday → contact Spotloan by the previous Thursday.
  • Payment due Wednesday → contact Spotloan by Monday.

Weekends and bank holidays aren't business days, so plan further ahead around long weekends. When in doubt, call earlier.

Spotloan doesn't charge late fees, but missed or late payments keep accruing interest, may be reported to credit reporting agencies, and unpaid accounts may be sent to a collection agency. Calling early is the easiest way to avoid that chain of events.

Funding and payment questions, answered

Two of the most common reasons people call are "Where's my money?" and "How do I pay?" Here's what Spotloan publishes, so you may be able to answer them without waiting on hold.

When will my loan be funded?

When you accept your terms (CT)When funds typically arrive
Monday–Friday before 1:30 p.m.By the end of that business day
Monday–Thursday, 1:30–8 p.m.Overnight
Friday after 1:30 p.m. through SundayBy the end of the next business day

Timing also depends on your bank. If the window has passed and you still don't see the deposit, check with your bank first, then call Spotloan.

How can I pay?

  • Automatic ACH debit. Spotloan says 97% of customers use it.
  • One-time debit card payment, online or by phone.
  • Check or money order mailed to P.O. Box 720, Belcourt, ND 58316. Your bank may take 7–10 days to clear it, so mail early.

If someone took out a Spotloan in your name

If you think someone used your information to get a Spotloan, act quickly. Spotloan's FAQ describes a written process for identity theft records requests. In general, you'll mail Spotloan:

  1. Proof of identity. A copy of a government-issued ID that shows who you are.
  2. A copy of your police report. File a report with your local police department about the identity theft.
  3. A completed identity theft affidavit. For example, an identity theft report from the FTC's IdentityTheft.gov.
  4. A letter explaining the request. Include the loan or account details you know about and how to reach you.

Send the package to Spotloan, P.O. Box 720, Belcourt, ND 58316. Use a mailing method with tracking, keep copies of everything, and note the date you sent it. You can also call 888-681-6811 to tell Spotloan the request is coming.

While you wait, check your credit reports for other accounts you don't recognize. You can get free reports at AnnualCreditReport.com.

How to escalate an unresolved problem

Most issues are solved with a phone call or email. If yours isn't, you have options:

  1. Ask for a supervisor. Politely ask whether someone else can review your issue, and request a reference number.
  2. Put it in writing. Email [email protected] with a short summary, dates, amounts and what you're asking for. A written record helps if you need to escalate.
  3. File a BBB complaint. Spotloan has a BBB profile, and complaints there are shared with the business for a response. As of October 2026, the profile shows 185 complaints in the last three years. Visit the Spotloan BBB profile.
  4. Use federal complaint portals. The Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau both accept consumer complaints about financial products and debt collection through their websites.
  5. If your account is with a collector, learn your rights first. The FTC's debt collection FAQs are a good starting point.

Because Spotloan operates under tribal law, how a dispute is formally resolved may depend on the dispute and arbitration terms in your loan agreement. Read that section before escalating. Our Spotloan legitimacy guide explains tribal lending in plain English.

Watch out for fake Spotloan customer service numbers

Scammers sometimes post fake "customer service" numbers online or call borrowers pretending to be their lender. The safest approach is to only use the contact details Spotloan publishes on spotloan.com: 888-681-6811 and [email protected].

  • Be wary of search ads and forum posts that list a different number.
  • If someone calls you claiming to be Spotloan, hang up and call 888-681-6811 yourself.
  • Never pay by gift card, wire transfer or crypto to settle a loan or "unlock" a refund.
  • Don't share one-time passcodes sent to your phone with anyone who contacted you.
  • Check email addresses carefully. Spotloan publishes [email protected]; be cautious with look-alike domains.

The December 2, 2025 change to Ningo Lending did not change Spotloan's phone number, email or mailing address. A message saying you must use a "new" number or payment address because of the change is a reason to stop and verify. For more safety tips, see our guide to signing in safely.

Tips for a faster, smoother call

  • Call early in the day or mid-week if you can; lines are often busier around paydays and right before due dates.
  • Have your details ready: full name, the email and phone number on your account, and any information Spotloan may ask for to verify your identity.
  • Know your goal. "I'd like to move my Friday payment to next Friday" is easier to act on than "I'm having trouble."
  • Write things down. Note the date, time, agent's name and any reference number.
  • Ask for confirmation by email when a payment date or amount changes.
  • Check your account afterward to make sure the change shows up before the due date.
