Spotloan Updates & Site Changelog

A dated record of changes to Spotloan’s published terms that we track, and of the updates we make to this site.

Changes at Spotloan

  1. Terms re-verified. Spotloan’s FAQ and How It Works pages list: up to $800 for new and repeat customers, up to $1,500 after 10+ loans, 490% maximum APR (330%–460% possible next, 99% from the 10th loan), funding cutoff 1:30 p.m. CT, and 39 available states. See Spotloan loans.
  2. State list check. North Carolina, Massachusetts and Colorado appear on Spotloan’s current available list, although some older third-party pages still say otherwise. Not available: AR, CT, IL, MD, MN, NY, ND, PA, VT, VA, WV and DC. See Spotloan states.
  3. New servicer. Ningo Lending LLC (doing business as Spotloan) became the servicer of Spotloans. Spotloan says payments, the online account portal and contact details stayed the same. See Spotloan and Ningo Lending.
  4. Class action settlement approved. Final approval in Turner v. ZestFinance (E.D. Va.): an $18.5 million fund and cancellation of eligible loans for people who borrowed Jan 1, 2012–Oct 31, 2018. Defendants denied wrongdoing. See Is Spotloan legit?
  5. Connecticut agreement. BlueChip Financial (d/b/a Spotloan) agreed with Connecticut’s Department of Banking to stop lending and collecting in the state, without conceding the allegations. See Spotloan in Connecticut.
  6. Spotloan launches under BlueChip Financial, a tribally owned entity of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.

Changes to this website

  1. Design and accessibility update. Clearer layouts on laptops, tablets and phones, larger tap targets and easier-to-read line lengths; new state guide cards on every state page. We also corrected our About page, which still described an older author-and-second-editor process; every page is now credited to the Editorial Team with a separate fact-check step. No Spotloan facts changed.
  2. New tools and pages. Added a 30-second Spotloan fit check, a funding-time checker, a state availability map, a cost comparison chart, a Spotloan glossary, a Spanish-language page (Préstamos Spotloan) and Your Privacy Choices.
  3. State and amount pages. Added pages for the 11 states and DC where Spotloan isn’t available, cost pages for $300, $500, $800 and $1,500, and a Spotloan payment guide.
  4. Site launch. All Spotloan facts verified against Spotloan’s own pages; cost examples built with a model that reproduces Spotloan’s published $600 example.
